Ted Babbitt was interviewed on WPTV News – CBS Channel 5 about the recent federal class action lawsuit against Lumber Liquidators.
He’s urging a court to stop Lumber Liquidators to stop making over a dozen products that have dangerous levels of formaldehyde.
Babbitt said in the TV interview: “This product is not fit for its use because it’s unsafe…it can cause cancer, it can cause asthma and it can cause respiratory diseases.”
According to a report from “60 minutes” that aired on CBS Sunday, most of Lumber Liquidators’ laminate flooring is made in China. Their investigation found the Chinese made flooring with high levels of formaldehyde.
In his lawsuit claiming deceptive practices and negligence, Babbitt cites independent lab testing that found the amount of the cancer causing chemical exceeds acceptable limits by 6 to 20 times.
