Our firm also has experience handling sexual assault cases. One of our clients was a mentally challenged 18-year old victim who went to a hospital to visit a relative. The security guard took her to the basement to get her an orange soda. There she was molested by the security guard. We won a $2.7 million result on behalf of her.
We also represented a former female cook who was raped by a co-worker at one of the dormitories of the Everglades Club. The victim filed a lawsuit alleging that the club’s discriminatory and hostile environment made it more likely that an employee would commit rape. The rapist was a Latino dishwasher, and at the club Latino workers weren’t allowed to wear name tags like white employees and were all referred to as “amigos.” We obtained a multi-million dollar result on behalf of the victim.
