An action group called Corporate Action Network (CAN) turned up the volume on transvaginal mesh lawsuits and surgical mesh manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson. A Med City News article reports that CAN is attempting to bring public awareness through social media about transvaginal mesh injuries to women implanted with a Johnson and Johnson transvaginal mesh product. CAN organizers are also asking current and former J&J employees to come forward and become whistleblowers, and for investors to divest or not buy any J&J stock at all.

According to the article, Corporate Action Network specializes in calling out corporate misdeeds, taking on some of the largest corporations in the country. Their objective is to pressure Johnson & Johnson to halt their marketing of “dangerous medical devices and disregard for health and safety.” While CAN has mainly focused on transvaginal mesh injuries, they also mention hip implants and Risperdal as well as other surgical mesh manufacturers: Boston Scientific Corp, C.R. Bard, Inc., Coloplast Corp., and Cook Medical Inc.

The article also cites a 2010 study found in the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology about transvaginal mesh for use in vaginal prolapse repairs. The study reports that after three months more than 15 percent of women who received the mesh experienced erosion, a potentially serious complication often resulting in pain and infection. The study questioned the value of surgical or transvaginal mesh for vaginal prolapse repairs.

Unfortunately, this information comes too late for the thousands of women injured by the very transvaginal mesh product meant to correct pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary incontinence issues.

Qualified Transvaginal Mesh Lawyers Are Here to Help
Medical devices  such as the transvaginal mesh implant are created to protect us and expected to work accurately and safely. However, defects can occur when these devices are poorly designed or manufactured and instead of healing, users are harmed by them.

When medical devices or implants fail, the negligence of the manufacturer needs to be addressed. If you or a loved one has been harmed or suffered adverse effects with the use of a transvaginal mesh product, you are encouraged to speak to experienced transvaginal mesh attorneys to determine if you can be compensated for your injuries.
